Well, the title says it all! We’re mostly fixing bugs right now and we’re hoping it won’t be long before 1.0 Beta 1 will be available for everyone to try. Our team is really excited about 1.0. It’ll be faster, leaner on memory, much more stable and perhaps most significantly, it’ll have full bi-directional DICOM functionality. If you’re a plugin developer, you’ll be happy to know that we’ve spent a lot of time improving the architecture and making the framework API easier to use. If you’re interested in tracking our progress towards Beta 1, just check our development wiki. Anyway, that’s it for now!

We’ll be attending a couple of conferences in April and May, namely Medical Imaging Informatics Toronto 2007 (April 27-28) and MCIM 2007 (May 1-2). If you’d like to meet up informally over coffee and see what we’re up to, just drop us a line (norman@clearcanvas.ca) and let us know. Hope to see you there!

The entire ClearCanvas team will be at RSNA this year from Mon Nov 27 to Wed Nov 29 as part of our ongoing effort to educate ourselves and to stay current with the industry. We won’t be exhibiting–just attending. If you’d like to meet with us to see what we’ve been working on, what our plans are, or just to say hi, we’d be happy to make the arrangement. Just send me an e-mail at norman@clearcanvas.ca and we can try to work out a mutually agreeable time. Hope to hear from you!

If you’re a developer and are interested in the latest source code and installer, we are now making available our daily build of the Trunk. Go to the Downloads page to get it. Make sure you uninstall any existing installation of ClearCanvas before your run the daily build installer. Note that the daily build should be considered unstable and untested. If you want a stable build, download 0.95 instead.

Well, it’s finally ready! Read more about it here and download it here. Please join the forum and tell us what you think, whether it be good, bad or ugly.
A few notes about this release:
We wanted to incorporate C-Store SCU, but because we wanted to do it correctly, we decided to give ourselves a little more time and deferred it until the next version.
The Linux/Mono version doesn’t build right now, but we’re working on it. We’ll even be putting out an RPM package in the coming weeks.
This is an interim release in our run up to 1.0, so be prepared for changes. This is especially true if you’re a plugin writer, as we’ll be refactoring the framework some more so that it’s as extensible and flexible as possible.
Version 0.95 should still be considered pre-release...

Over the past few months, we’ve been making a lot of changes to CC Workstation. We’ll be sharing these changes with you all in our upcoming release. Some feature highlights in v0.95:
Much faster image rendering
Bilinear interpolation
A redesigned Explorer panel (formerly the “Dashboard”)
C-STORE SCU
Text overlay
Dockable workspace tabs
Context menu support
Much improved stability
These are some of the new visible features. Equally important are the significant changes that have been made under the hood, including:
A completely overhauled component architecture
Usage of a lightweight, open source database known as SQLite
And of course, all of our developer documentation will be updated to reflect the new changes. Anyway, we anticipate that we’ll be able to release...

It’s been a while since we’ve updated the content on our site, so we thought it was about time. Check out the many new links, including a completely revised About Us page and descriptions of all our Creations (we don’t like to use the word “product” if we can help it). Enjoy!
