Five years ago, I founded ClearCanvas on the simple, unwavering belief that medical imaging informatics should be accessible to all. This core belief is what originally drove me to make our products open source in the first place. I wanted to make sure that everyone, regardless of economic means, had access to high quality imaging informatics software. I believed that then and I still passionately believe that now.
As we launch our commercial initiative this week with the release of ClearCanvas Workstation, Clinical Edition, know that the founding principles of ClearCanvas have not changed one bit. We are fully committed to our open source products as they are an integral part of our mission. We will continue to actively develop them and make them available to the world.
At the same time, we also recognize the importance of a healthy commercial ecosystem to our partners and to us. In speaking to those of you who use our open source products for your businesses, we learned that commercial, FDA cleared versions of our products were important to you and your customers. And so that is exactly what we have delivered. Making commercial products available also ensures that our extraordinarily talented team can continue to bring new innovations to both our open source and commercial platforms, so that we can continue to achieve our mission for many years to come.
My vision for ClearCanvas has always been to be a company that measures its success not only in terms of its balance sheet, but also in terms of the lives that it changes, be those of doctors, patients, researchers or our growing network of business partners around the world. So as we enter this new era, I invite all of you to stay on this journey with us as we continue to revolutionize imaging informatics one step at a time.
